Yuen Kut Lam’s Kam Wo Tea

Background: A Chinese herbal tea containing 30 different herbs and suchlike, most of which I’ve never heard of. According to the box, this is an “effective remedy for fever, head-ache, intoxicating, plague, vomiting, purging intermittent fever, inflammation, pain in the bones, indigestion, and cold, it can also heal the affection by the sun and allay thirst in the summer.”
Nose: Smells like Christmas. It’s a very specific sense memory, but I’m not sure what the actual odour is; the boxes in which all of our Christmas things (ornaments etc.) were stored smelled exactly like this tea. Very woodsy, slightly resinous, with a hint of peppermint.
Taste: A very light bitterness, hints of cedar and mint. Other than that, a vague earthy herbalness.
Overall: While I can’t vouch for any health benefits, it’s a tasty beverage. (Note: may not be to everyone’s taste.) And it might cure the plague!
