Celebration Caffè
by admin on Jan.14, 2009, under blended coffee, coffee
Background: Holiday offering by Allegro Coffee Company in Colorado, exclusively for Whole Foods. This year's blend is medium roast and contains coffees from Kenya, Ethiopia, and Guatemala.
Nose: Very sweet and fruity/floral, hints of spicy ginger and something that I can't quite place. Caramelised onion?
Taste: Bright and chocolaty. A little dried citrus, clean and sweet.
Overall: A zesty, flavourful cup of coffee.
Starbucks Mocha Frappuccino – Inna Bottle
by admin on Jul.20, 2008, under coffee
Presentation: Glass bottle, reminiscent of a slimmed-down milk bottle.
Nose: Milk chocolate, vanilla, and smoke.
Taste: Decidedly ashy, with a cloying milk chocolate background. Hints of toast, hazelnut, and golden syrup.
Overall: Not good. Not good 'tall.
Caribou Coffee Iced Coffee plus Espresso – Inna Can
by admin on Jul.20, 2008, under coffee
Presentation: 12 fl. oz. aluminum can with a twist-off top. A Coca-Cola product. Pours a murky brown.
Nose: Smooth dark chocolate presence.
Taste: Very mild; still chocolatey, with some maple syrup, caramel, and nutty influences coming through along with smooth creamy lactose. Hints of tobacco in the aftertaste.
Overall: Decidedly not my preferred form of coffee. It's palatable, but lacks a certain freshness and robustness.
